Minster Veterinary Surgery was taken over in September 2005 by partners Joyce Fleming and Ross O'Brien who have 18 and 15 years of experience respectively.
Lisa started working for the practice when she left school in 1989 starting as a receptionist and working her way up to becoming Head Nurse. She finally hung up her stethoscope in 2002 to become practice manager. She is a member of the VPMA (Veterinary Practice Managers Association). Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, cycling, drawing and painting.
Joyce qualified from University College Dublin, Ireland in 1992. She completed a one year residency in the surgery department before moving to the PDSA in Sheffield. She held two other jobs in Kent and Dorset before joining Minster Vets in 1999.
Joyce has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology and feline medicine.
Ross O’Brien qualified in 1996 from the Royal Veterinary College in London. He developed a strong interest in animal welfare, pain relief (including acupuncture) and anaesthesia. He is particularly keen on cardiothoracic and internal medicine.
Growing up in Wales, he spent much of his time turning over stones in rock pools which has fostered a further interest in exotics.

After a rather adventurous period working as a wildlife vet intern at the RSPCA's Stapeley Grange Centre in Nantwich, Izabella went on to work as a small animal and exotic vet in Exeter. She is passionate about all creatures, be they furry pet friends, odd reptiles or birds. She graduated in Budapest, Hungary where she developed a special interest in exotic and wild animals, different imaging techniques and also obtained a BSc in Wildlife Management and Conservation. She loves this part of the United Kingdom and, in her spare time, loves to seek out interesting places or to curl up with the works of the classic English authors.
