A long way from home...

Ever needed a reason to get your animal microchipped? Well this may be it...

Meet Alfie, a gorgeous chap who was brought to us by a member of the public as a stray. As routine we scanned him to check for a microchip... and he had one! We phoned petlog who gave us his owners details... Alfies home was a mere 81 miles away in Southampton! We contacted the owners who were shocked to say the least - he had travelled before but never this far! Alfie and his owners are now reunited (it took his owners 2 hours to drive here!)

Moral of the story... get your animals microchipped! Alfie's owners would of never thought to of looked for him this far afield!

Our Latest Cruelty Case

Submitted by user1 on Fri, 10/05/2012 - 10:24

Earlier this week a cat was brought into one of our surgeries by his worried owner.  The cat had been out for no longer than 30 minutes on Tuesday morning before returning home lame on his left legs - front and back - and generally appearing to be in shock.  On closer examination a single puncture wound was discovered on his left flank.

Can you see the air gun pellet?

We take all cases of cruelty seriously and the owners have contacted the police.  The cat in question is currently undergoing specialist surgery at a referral centre in Bristol.
